Banggai Pair

Well, it looks like one of my Banggai Pair has either a mouth full of marbles or we'll be passing out cigars shortly. The male has not eaten in about a week and has some seriously bulging cheeks....

Does anyone have experience raising the fry?

got a diadema urchin? if so you should be a step ahead of the game if not than i would try to catch them out of your display and feed them newly hatched brine shrimp and jazz

Very cool. I would be intrested in a couple when you get to the point of selling them.

Do you have a brine shrimp hatchery up and running?

The offspring's first food should be newly hatched baby brine shrimp. If you don't have a Diadema urchin, you can provide a fake one with bamboo skewers or plastic cocktail stirring sticks stuck into a ball of epoxy. The young should congregate between the spines.

Also if you know when they're due to come out, you can carefully remove the male to a separate tank with a "fake" urchin.

If you get the chance, check out this book: http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Illu...=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1218381796&sr=1-2

Tons of awesome info on breeding lots of different species.

Good luck!

He is still holding them. The pair is in a 55 gal all by themselves, so the only predators will be mom and dad.....I have the hatchery started....
