Banggaii and anemone shrimp... just expensive snacks?

Are anemone shrimp too big for banggaii to eat? I'm talking about spotted anemone and Pederson. They are about an 1-1 1/2" long.

Would love to keep both, but already committed to the little shrimps at this point.

I've seen it done, but I will admit I've never seen them coexisting together once the banggai is a mature adult. I've known many a banggai to prey upon small (and even rather large) shrimp. If he doesn't eventually make a snack of them, just know he has full potential to at any given moment, given the size of his mouth and his natural prey items. Out of all of the more common cardinals available to us, the only 2 species I would feel totally comfortable keeping in a community of mainly nano (1-2") sized fish and tiny mobile inverts, would be longspine/ghost cardinals (Zoramia leptacantha) and the red spot cardinals (Apogon parvulus). I'd pass, but it's up to you :bum:

I have a pair of whitespot anemone shrimp with a pair of banggais and so far it works. Though the shrimp are hiding during the day inside a green star polyp colony and the banggais are not yet fully grown.

I suspect my fully grown female in another tank has slurped up the sexy shrimps there.

I wouldn't risk trying it with a Peterson shrimp.
