I bought these 3 little guys (tank bred) in hope i'll get a pair.. I've kept bangi before and fed them flake and frozen cyclop-eeze but these little ones don't really like it. They are definitely hungry so i'd like to get them some food asap. Anyone have any suggestions on dinner for them?

tried frozen mysis.. no luck.. a little nipping but wouldn't swallow.. my chromis sure loved them ha.. gunna go back and get a few other things.

One of my cardinals went 2 weeks without eating when I first got him, so don't worry. Eventually he started nipping at mysis, and now goes crazy as soon as any frozen food hits the water. I've been trying to get them on NLS and formula 2 pellets but they are uninterested.

no one had brine shrimp around here so tonight i am setting up a hatchery. hopefully i can use the brine to trick them into something else. it'll be too bad if they turn out all the same sex and i don't get a pair

Be aware that it will take a couple weeks to get the brine up to full size. Mine aren't interested in baby brine at all. They don't seem to even notice it is there.

Odds are you will get a pair. When I got 3 of them last spring I ended up with all males, just my luck I guess, so now I only have one of those left.

yeah i kinda figured it'd take awhile but i felt i better start incase i cant get a hole of any. hopefully these stubborn little guys take some other food.. i've never grown brine before so its kinda fun never the less ha

Could you ask what they were eating before you bought them? They don't look like extremely small babies to me so they should have been eating before, but it could just be a misleading photo. I have a LFS that breeds these guys, and I think part of their diet is prawn eggs.

i called up there today and the guy said brine.. i bought them at king aquarium. its a 45min drive for me so maybe if they're not eating by next weekend i'll make a trip and get them some

They don't need to eat much at all. There is one baby that made it past my other fish that has been alive and growing in my overflow for 7 mos. He's getting bigger but is destined to live a life of solitude! He's eating something that spills over:fun2:

i would say about 50% of the brine have hatched. since this is my first time hatching them.. i start feeding them in the morning right? i was told 12 hours after hatching before first feeding. and should i told a small water change tomorrow evening to rid their sheddings?

also 2 of the 3 infants have started eating cyclop-eeze so the brine probably wont be needed but i'm going to continue with it anyway, it'll be a tasty treat for my other fish once developed
