Is it "normal" for a bannerfish (aka heniochus butterfly) to lose part of its "banner"? Mine lost the thin part of its banner, it still has the thick part left, just the long thin part broke off> Will it grow back, why did it come off?
Probably normal. If you take a look at the Moorish Idol thread, people say they grow the banner really fast and it either falls off or gets caught on something or some fish bites it off. Then they grow it back I guess and repeat.
