The main part of the construction is complete! Tank goes in today. I decided to hire some movers to move this monster. I figured the experience + insurance is well worth the added expense. My back thanks me! Not a whole lot going on this week other than mud, more mud, sanding, and a BIG MESS! Last night we got it primed and I have been picking up equipment this week. Here is a list so far:
-3 Coralvue 400 watt balast
-3 Lumen Bright single ended mini WIDE
-Hammerhead pump
-Three Tunze 6101 - Total I will have 4 Tunze and 1 MP40
-ACIII Pro w/Aqua Surf, 2x DC8's, PX1000 expansion, & I/O Breakout plus 2 pH probes and 2 ORP probes
-Delzone Eclipse 1 220v Ozone with dryer
-50 lbs of BRS Dry rock - currently curing
On order:
-another 100 lbs of Dry rock from Marco
-24" x 36" custom built frag tank
-40 gallon quarantine tank with complete set up (skimmer, PH's, heater, 250 MH, T5's, etc)
About to order:
-2 48" reef brite LED supplement lights
-3 14K Ushio 400w bulbs or save money and get the reeflux 12K?
-Octopus 5000xp cone external skimmer (still debating this versus the Super reef 6000Ext) ANY SUGGESTIONS?????
-SAND: 3 bags of Tropic Eden Miniflake (argonite crumb, 2mm) - 90 lbs and 1 bag Reeflakes (argonite flakes, 3.5mm) - 30 lbs
I would appreciate any feed back on the list - especially the skimmer, sand, and my supplemental lighting. I was torn on going with 14K or 20K Ushios and now I am thinking of saving about $20/light and going with the Reeflux. I have heard that are very good lights with a nice blue color. From what I understand, the reef brite LED's all blue are extremely bright lights and should supplement with the blue we really like. Currently we have the radium 20K with a figi purple and blue plus T5 supplement.
