Barberi vs tomato

Can someone please tell me the physical differences between the two without looking at them side by side? I think I have a barberi and I want to add a second one. I want to make sure I add the exact same species. I can add a picture later today once I get good lighting.

The differences are slight but can be seen when comparing pictures. Barberi typically doesn't darken on the body with age/size like frenatus. Also it seems like barbers will have a slimmer head stripe near the top of the head in most cases. To my knowledge, barberi are also more closely related to melanopus than frenatus, and therefore don't display the size disparity between the sexes.

What do you guys think?

Where did you get it? It looks like the way barberi darken as they age, but without knowing the origin it's really hard to tell.

My lfs..I've had he/she for over a year now and have been very skeptical to put any other clown in the tank to try their comparability.

The plot thickens..

I have 2 Tomato's....
when I was considering which to get, I think what I noticed was the head stripe.
the difference I noticed was the stripe. I could be wrong but I believe the stripe on the Tomato is narrower on the top of head and widens as it comes down, where the Barberi is wider on the top and narrows as it come down the side.
that is the difference I notices at LFS and the difference I notice from your pic to my Tomato's that I am staring at here.

hope I helped.
