bare bottom / starboard tips please

I am thinking more and more of setting my next tank up with starboard maybe. Few questions though.......

1. What is starboard?
2. Where am I able to buy it?
3. How much should I expect to pay for it?
4. How do I control my nitrates with it?

5....very important to me.....I like sand do to the fact the is is as natural as you can get. What are tips, ways to make starboard look more natural?

Any other info on this would be great. Thank you.

5. Coraline algae will eventually cover it anyway.

I know that it has nothing to do with nitrates. What I mean is that a DSB does have something to do with nitrates. So......with no DSB, how do I control nitrates?

You don't let nitrates become an issue. Reason for going bare is to be able to have masive flow to keep detrious in the water column long enough for the skimmer to get it out before it breaks down. So you want high flow and big skimmer.
