Barebottom in a 2 x 2 x 2 cube tank.. Will clam be happy?

I've did some reading. I have

150 DE HQI + Actinic on a 2 feet tank.

I do not intend to upgrade my tank anytime soon, so I am wondering if keeping a smaller clam will make it happy?

Are croceas + maximas the smallest in terms of max size growing to about 6 inches?

Thanks

croceas stay around 6-7", but they would need to be higher in the rockwork most likely, as they're rather light demanding. maxmias can get larger, say closer to 12" or even a bit more, and again these would probably prefer being closer to a 150W MH than the floor of the tank. I'd not rule out derasa or squamosa clams, though. True, they get large, but it takes years and you could then trade them for smaller specimens. A large clam can fetch a good price if you can find a buyer.

I have seen larger corceas than 6-7" but they grow so slow it would take years to get that large they are the slowest growing of all the clams. Derasa and squmoasa can out grow that tank in a year or 2 one of my derasas has put on about 1" a month so far just X (times) that buy 12 and it would be huge in 1 year. O yah Is that you in the picture if so NICE....

^^ LOL not me, but as an average joe, one could 'hope'.

Will the clam be heavy and topple over? I have rock, but they are more on the outskirts and away from the middle, where there is most light.

Maximas can get up to 20" inches in the wild and Croceas get well over 12" aslo in the wild but both love light and will do well under alot of it just as long as you dont light shock them.

SO who is that in the picture?

Das i d k just googled.

Wouldn't captivity maximas be smaller though? I guess I'll aim @ a crocea, but jeez, the stuff I"m reading are a mixed bag. I owuld've like a derasa, but sizing.

Derasa are nice but grow fast and huge like 30+ inches maybe more... Crocea grow slow very slow in some cases. yah captive grown ones they say are smaller but I dont thing any one has grown one full size in a actuall aquarium. Hawaii has the largest clam ever grown and its been there for 30 years I am sure some one will correct me but its old for and aquarium grown clam.
