Thanks ReefWreak. I increase the flow. I think my problem is my two sun corals.cyano/diatomes. Probably cyan.
Siphon it out, increase flow to the area, decrease feeding/nutrients. :-/
soulpatch tell about your battery power vac, and where did you get it.I am having a cyano outbreak at the moment. I guess killing off my bryopsis lead to extra nutrients for cyano. It is always something.
I just suck it out using my awesome battery power vac in between water changes. I also need to get back up to speed on some of my nopox dosing. I had cut it which has also led to the excess nutrients in the water.
And I suffer for the same reason you do. Coral feeding. I want my acans to grow quickly so I need to feed each head individually. Takes forever and the food that they dont hang onto is excess for the tank. I have cut down their feedings to a couple times a week in an effort to minimize this all.
Ordered one on ebay for $12.00 free shipping. This is what I have and probably the best <$10 I spent on the aquarium yet:

I take the attachment off the tip so it is just a hose end for more precise pick up of the cyano. It can clean the sand witht hat attachment if I wanted but I do that with water changes so no need. I use this simply to get algae or debris in the tank like in my dead spots.
Works awesome.
Hi Homer,Quick question for you BarryV....
What are you feeding your sun coral? I was thinking tiny shrimp and/or scallop bits, or forgo that for reef frenzy? My LFS said he feeds his sun corals the reef frenzy, but I think its a tad bit pricey for what it is.
Also you take it out of the tank to feed it? Does it open right back up in a bucket? nearly 20 hours in my tank and I have yet to see it open.
I can get mine to poke their heads out in a tupperware container, but I never see any tentacles looking to grab some food. I did force a head to eat by holding a mysis on it, but its the only polyp I could get to do it.
I have moved it to a place of high flow and low light(read that's what they like it since they are typically found in caves), and I notice their heads poking out, but yet again, no PE, just bare heads with mouths poking out. Might try some different food. The reef frenzy seems to garner a response, but they just won't eat it.
Well I am at a loss. The only thing I have used on my two sun corals to get them to eatThis is exactly what I've been doing.
Tank water in a tupperware container, I melt the reef frenzy in the tupperware with my fingers(quite a bit I might add), let them sit for an hour or so. I do check on them with a flashlight, and I just have yet to see any PE.
I'll have to try putting a cover on them and see if it makes any difference. I put way more reef frenzy in the tupperware bowl with them then I would feed the whole tank at one time. After an hour or so with no eating response(again they poke their heads out, but I never see any tentacles trying to grab for food) I just place them back in my tank and dump the bowl in too.
I wonder if its cause the way my frag is it can't stand up in the bowl? it has to lay on its side covering up some of the heads. I do have a rather large frag disk my monti is sitting on that I could remove and glue the sun too. Thoughts?
It's beautiful progression for sure.
Equipment wise, you could try moving the korallia to the back corner blowing upwards towards the front glass. I'd definitely hide the frag rack better too
But honestly, your tank looks great, nice and mature, and growing in as well. Lots of room for things to grow too. I'm a little scared that within the next 6 months all of my acros will be growing into each other. A good problem to have I suppose!
