I've brought this up before but just throwing this out for the last time.

These are Bartletts I'm sure:

And these are Evansis:

For some reason the second pic is labelled as Bartletts....

The first are def. not Barlett's... anydarnthing hit the nail on the head with the Parvirostris... the little "diamond" on the forehead is the key to id'ing them. Cute buggers but I have never been able to keep them alive for long...

Yep, you are right. hey are Diadem Anthias (Parvirostris Anthias) from the Japanese translation.

I'm kind of stuck on what to get next. The Diadem, Evansi and they now have Ventralis which are stunning.

The second picture looks like a group of female Bartlett's to me. If you are not sure 1) ask where they came from - Evansii are typically Indian Ocean while Bartletts come from the Marshalls, Christmas Island (the Pacific one) or Micronesia. 2) If they eat then they are probably Bartletts. Evansii are usually difficult feeders and painfully shy.

Ventralis are beautiful but difficult anthias. They are not a good community tank fish. They tend to be shy and do not compete particularly well for food.

IMO, the second pic is of evansi. Also look for the purple going into the tail...bartlett do not get purple into the tail, even as males....evansi get a lot.

Here's a pic of a pair of Bartlett's I had. Note the completely yellow tails:
