I heard if I bought all females one would turn male;is this true?

Yes it's true - depending on how many you get you could wind up with more than one male (maybe more than 5? just a guess)

Almost makes you wonder why anybody would pay extra for a male doesn't it?

I think I would get much more satisfaction out of having a female develop into a male than to buy one.

You will quickly notice the difference in the dorsal fin and brighter pink color as they change.

Aren't 4 Anthias way too many for a 85g tank? Or are these going in something bigger? Everything I've read said they should be kept singly unless in a very large tank, like 180+.

Their are several different ways that you can keep anthias. You can keep a group in 180g or larger. You can keep one every 50 to 75g. Or, the least practical, you can crowd them. The most I would get in a 85g is a pair.

Maybe I'll just go with chromies, I was told an 85g would be fine with 4 but I'll trust you guys.

On a side note, people have kept anthias in group sizes and aquarium sizes different than what I listed.

I have 7 Bartlett's in a 180g (2M/5F) They are doing great.
