i noticed tonight when i got home that one of my bartletts eyes is swollen up and looks as if it has air bubbles under it anyone can help me identify what is going on with it and what should i do to fix the problem and is it contagious to other fish

I am not sure what it is but had the same happened to my starki's damsel,it went away on its own in about two weeks. No other fish was infected. My damsel is doing fine now for about two months.

Sounds like popeye. It's usually caused by an injury or abrasion to the eye of some kind and it is bacterial in nature. With excellent water conditions and a good diet is should clear up on its own.

It's probably popeye. It's a bacterial infection of the eye. If it doesn't clear up on its own with good water and food, you can take him out and treat it. I'm not sure with what but I think there's some stuff available on the market.
