Base rock question

Why, uh....how could I EVER, uh  ....pass a "deal" like, uh, that up. Come on over right now with your, uh, much better rock....and stuff.

I'm going to sprain my eyeballs if I keep doing this

Thats really nice looking rock. It was worth the shot. My hirocks don't look that nice just yet. It's coloring up but slowly. I still need about 60 to 70 lbs of rock, I'll be getting it from reefrocks someday.

Everything I've seen posted of it here on RC said it was just garbage. You'd probably be better off just scraping some coralline off of a nice rock into your tank.

I have put nothing in my stock tank. Just letting the stuff sit there and it is coloring up on its own. Even the sides of the stock tank are getting alot of color.

I've used the purple up, I noticed a sudden change from nothing on the glass to the little purple dot's appearing with in 2 weeks of using it. That's my take on the stuff, It worked for both my neighbor and me.

Well, I have had the tank up and running now since Jan of this year and it had not done anything like that until I started using the purple up. So would you say it just happened to start at the same time I used the purple up? That and my last tank which was up for over 4 months before I got rid of it, never once had the purple coralline on the glass. Just a little in the old prizm skimmer was all I had. How long does it take to start formation of coralline with a new set up?? I guess I should have asked that before I stated the stuff worked, being I don't know the answer to that question??

I got 240 lbs of Hirock (very happy with came in really nice shapes and sizes) and 85 lbs of Live rock.

The base rock did take a long time to get though, but was in no hurry at the time. It's getting really hard for me to tell the difference between my old live rock and the new base rock.

Dave, that rock looks pretty good too.

Also on the purple up, I was shocked too what it did to his tank, and Dave you are right it might have had nothing to due with the purple up, but he didn't have anything and with in a week of dosing it Caroline started popping up all over his rock and glass.

hmm..
a lady at MS said she used it and her tank had cycled and was covered with coralline in 7 days.

Well, my dad's aunt's neighbor's best friend's husband accidentally drank some and he had coralline growing on his tonsils in 3 days. ;)

Just passing on what I have read on various posts about the stuff here on RC, to which the majority have poo poo'd it off as snake oil. Haven't actually used it myself though, so I can't give a first person's perspective on it. Good luck.

Well, a little more than half my rocks is base rock from reeferrocks. I thought it was great. Like I've said before, I got mine on a huge deal. It was an eBay auction and I bought it for about 70 cents per pound. It's been in my tank for 6 months now. Here it is.

I think I had three live rocks in there and about 4 baserocks. Now you can't tell the difference.
