Basement pump

I am an idiot when it comes to pump selection so here it goes. I am setting up a sump, frag, and fuge room in the basement and pumping up to a 90 gallon DT. I will be moving water up 14', I would also like to run a manifold off this pump to run a couple reactors. So can you all please help me out. Thanks

You will first need to know how many gph you're trying to get back up to the tank. What you're using for wavemaking inside the tank itself will play a role into this, as well if you're going to be using Mocean's, Seaswirl's, and how many total outlets and size.

Also, how much do you want to spend? I have a mak4 and it is a good solid cheap pump. I have not had any issues thus far and it is kind of loud (it is in the basement tho so not a big problem). I pump about 12' and its about 550gph I think. Good enough for my purposes. Its not a flow pump its to get filtered water to the display tank.

Engine... basically you need roughly a 180w external pump to do this. There are several ones that fit this bill. The cheapest one and "least" pedigreed is Mag 18 (slighly less than 180w and it's both internal/external). Other, more "refined" choices are Iwaki md-55rlt, Panworld 150PS, Gen-X PCX-55HP etc. I think the most "sensible" reeflo is Tarpon Uno but it's like $450 and has really more flow than you need there.

Spacey :D

Thanks eveyone. Spacey the reeflo tarpon is what I was looking at. Wasnt sure the panworld would do it but glad to here it will. Thanks
