My current setup is a 75g DT upstairs, a 40B DT in-wall in the basement, a 46g fuge, and a 100g rubbermaid sump. There is an IWAKI return pump that feeds the 75g, which drains into the 46g and then into the sump.
I currently have the 40B DT supplied by a mag7 sitting in the sump behind it, but would like to eliminate complexity and feed it from the upstairs 75g.
Gravity = friendly energy saver, plus it eliminates a pipe I currently need to squeeze under to get to the far side of the tank.
My main concern on just plumbing it into the return of the 75g is generating too many bubbles in the 40B.
I won't put the full amount of return water into the 40B, it will be controlled via valves that allow what goes into the fuge and the 40B itself.
Has anyone had any experience with this? Recommendations?
