basics on clowns

ive always wanted to breed clowns and im just now getting my big tank started up and i want to after i get that runnin smoothly try and breed and raise some clowns, can someone throw out some ideas like is a 10 gallon tank big enough to breen in then get another 10 gallon to growout in? like simple questions i wanna know from ppl who have actually done it bc reading and reading is just throwing out ideas i wanna know what real ppl do thanks in advance
