Basket Seastar

I had a basket Seastar come in as a hitchhiker and I want to see if it would be a mistake to let it go in a reef tank. I understand that they can reproduce fairly quickly, limbs that break off grow into new organisms. Has anyone ever had one in their tank before? Thanks.

How large is your basket seastar? They generally don't last in our tanks.

I've had the smaller ones come in as hitchhikers. They often associate with gorgonias, and just don't seem to catch/consume enough of the right/right-sized food particles.

Mine is going strong and growing, well over a year now. :)

They really like gorgonians.
That's what mine hitchhiked in on.

I had a couple for about 18 months, and then they just seemed to fade away. The gorgs went about the same time, so that might have been the determining factor.
