Battery Backup question

Looking for advice on my battery backup problem.

I recently bought a used battery backup and it has been plugged in charging for atleast a day now and the light on the power supply is still red. I plugged it into my mp10 as the manual said and when I unplugged both the battery backup and the pump nothing lights up on the pump driver. Could there be a problem with either of the cables or is the backup shot?

Paranoid,

I would recommend replacing the power supply for the Battery Backup and the fused cables. More then likely the battery is just fine.

I checked some things out today and found that the fuse inside the cable that plugs in to the vortech is blown. The power supply seems like it is working properly, but the battery itself starts to lose its charge once it is unplugged.

I think the battery is shot. I charged it for a few hours and then unhooked it and shortly after it drops back down to 5 volts.
