Battling Dino

I was wondering the BEST way to rid or battle the dinoflaggeletes (sp?) My n03 is 20, p03 undetectable, dkh is 9, cal is 430...haven't gotten a mag tester yet, but will. I have a 55 gallon fowlr and am putting a 20 gallon long together as a sump to install when finished. I'm in blackout conditions now for the past 3 days only using actinics to feed, and have cut back feeding to half cube frozen/day...this algea is the one that makes people quit the hobby and I'm certainly not a quitter...thanks in advance for some ideas and help!

That's the big question. There is no one cure all or best way. Just try all options you can. Read about sucess stories and what they did until something works.
It took me 7 months of trying things to "rid" my tank of them. Still don't know what really did them in. Some still battling them for years. Some species harder to rid than others.
Quick list of things people have tried that I can remember
Dirty method
Clean method
H2O2 dose
Phytoplankton
Pods
Bacteria additions
UV sterilizer
Dino X (did nothing for me)
Black outs
Feeding different foods
I'm sure there are others I can't remember at the moment.

I just watched a video on that, it said to totally cover the tank with cardboard - is that what you're doing? I was worried I had that but I don't think I do. It looks absolutely horrible to deal with. Good luck.

Yeah, i have a grill cover over the tank 3 days (LFS advice) only uncovering to feed. When uncovered the Dino seems gone, but 5 days seems to be the number.? Fish don't seem to be stressed and my CUC are very active, i suppose the forever nocturnal thing has something to do with that...I'll keep updating...
