Bayer dip killing my corals

I have a 500 gallon system that's been setup over 3 months ago. For the past month I'm having trouble keeping corals. I've been doing a bayer dip at 10 ml to 1 L. This is the first tanks that I have ever dipped ALL my corals and my first time using bayer. As of now all my corals have died after 3 days. Most after 24 hours. I dip for just over 5 min and then do a saltwater rinse before putting into the tank. Sugestions?

I tested all My parameters today:

Calcium: 500+ mg/L
Magnesium: 1800 ppm
KH 7.5 dKH
Alkalinity 2.68 meg/L
PH 8.1
Ammonia 0 ppm
Nitrate 0 ppm
Nitrite 0 ppm
Salt: 1.026
Temp. 78
What type of corals did you lose? Since you're using Bayer, I'm assuming they're SPS? What symptoms did you witness? STN? Did the tissue just dissolve?

Have you tried any hardier corals in the SPS, LPS OR ZOA categories? If these were acros, it's possible that the dips were not the cause IMO. They can be tricky in a mature tank & more so in a new tank that is still moving towards stability. Your calc & mag are high but shouldn't be lethal, although they suggest less than rock solid stability.

Also, what type of system did they come from? Shock from different lighting, from a high nutrient environment to a low nutrient environment and vastly different BIG 3 & pH levels can put a mega whammy on sensitive species.

Good luck.

I'm pretty sure your corals are having issues due to your parameters, but I have heard that there are some rare bad batch containers of Bayer that have a strong smell to them and can kill corals. If your Bayer has anything other than a light smell it could be a factor in your corals.

I dip all my corals with bayer and haven't lost one yet. 15ml/1cup of water for 20mins then rinse in 2 separate clean tank water containers.
