bayer dipping times/amount

I have been using the Bayer dipping process for about 3 years now. And while doing so, I have never dipped with a set "X" amount of Bayer. I just pour enough in till I'm happy :hmm2: I would have 3 different stages, one with the dip, and two with the rinse. I was doing each stage for 15 minutes each.

I have been reading where many are doing an "X" amount of dip per cup of water, and anywhere from 2-15 minute dips at each stage.

So I got to wondering. Is there a way to calculate the amount of bayer needed, as well as the right amount of time? Is there such a thing?

I have a number of corals coming in, in a few days and would like to dip them. Which led me to these questions.
I will be dipping a Dendrophyllia, and not sure how it will handle the Bayer. So any way to limit "over dipping", the better.
