Bayer & Red Bug Experience

I have performed 3 dips on an infected frag over the past couple of weeks:

Dip 1: Bayer: 20ml/cup for 5 min (before placing in QT)
Dip 2: Coral RX: Per directions (1 week after Dip 1)
Dip 3: Bayer: 20ml/cup for 10 min (1 week after Dip 2)

Frag looks fine, but there are still red bugs. I'm starting to think the Bayer will not kill the red bugs, but am sharing to see if there is something I should change to get these suckers.

Your not doing it long enought. You have to let them soak atleast 15min. I do 10-15ml per 1/4 gal(half a lrg butter container full). Never seen redbugs since I started using it.

^^I agree with this. I have dipped all of my corals with the Bayer including one wild sps and they sit for at least 15 minutes in the dip. Then I put in fresh salt water from my tank with a small powerhead to clean off all off the remains left from the Bayer. I haven't seen any ill effects from it and no bugs. I would up the dosage slightly and extend the soaking time.

I dipped with Bayer for only 5 mins (4 oz of water + 10 ml of Bayer) and so far, no red bugs. Treated SPS pieces once and that was 5 weeks ago.

Keeping my fingers crossed though.....

Thanks for the input. Just gave a 15 min dip a try tonight.

Will see how that pans out.
