Im currently ordering things to set up my 300G 96"'x24"x30" lee-mar tank. Dual center overflows 1.5" drains. No return holes.

Upgrading from a 90G glass. some coral some fish..

Stand I welded last weekend will be done at powder coating today. (Yes pics are coming)

Want to keep a BB tank
Looking for a local glass cutter to drill holes for a closed loop addtion 2" center drain and 4 1" bottom returns. will use an OM manifold No drum for constant flow from all 4 returns on a DART pump.

Also thinking of adding 3 returns to back wall from the sump return rather than running them over the top with PVC. Again need to be drilled..

Lighting is still in process as you see my other post asking for guidance.

100G sump in place.. need partitioned for skimmer/refugium area, just a tank with 2" drain. Have reverse durso piping I will attempt to use.

Controller will be a profilux II. Skimmer is a Deltec ap851, Cal Reactor is a GEO 618. 200lbs live rock

Working on the PICS!! I know

Flow Layout Ideas

Flow Layout Ideas

So I think you can cause flow 100+ ways in a tank..

Here are some ideas I've come up with for drilling the tank 300G Glass Tank. Non-Tempered bottom (I hope)

Currently the only holes in the tank are 2 1.5" drains in the over flows 1 in each .. So the rest will be added (drilled).

top has drain and return for CL on bottom making 7 hole with non-tempered 1/2" glass ...

middle has CL 2 on bottom one on back.. drain on bottom..

Bottom takes the drain to the back wall halfway or so and CL on bottom only making 5 hole total in bottom pane.. and smaller holes too

Anybody doing something like this ?? or have good/Bad experience I should keep away from ???

Thanks
Frank

O yea Im not the best at drawing .. especially without a CAD program (not that I know how to use one).. This was done from Powerpoint 07 and it did not import here well either.. Im trying :)

More setting up..

Here are a few shots of the Powdercoated stand and top drilled for closed loop.

I went with 4 1" returns on the bottom and 2" drain to the back pane of glass. with 3 1" returns to the top rear pane for the sump returns.

I hope this give pleanty of flow and the 1/2" glass will hold once all the water and rock is placed in.

I used 1/2" melamine and 1/2" styrofoam for tank support across the metal stand to help distribute the weight evenly.

It's looking good... If that stand is built the same as the one I got from you it'll hold a semi.

I must say the work you put into the 180 was great, and everything is working great.

If you need a hand with anything, let me know.

Ever find anybody to do the skin?

Plumbing Time...

Plumbing Time...

Ok Stand is done I have 41+" height of open space .. Tank in place 300G.. Sump 100G just sitting there waiting to be filled with equipment 18" min to work with above sump..

SO I have to plumb the CL = Dart to an OM drum with 4 1" returns to bottom of the tank..

Deltec AP851 skimmer...

Geo Ca Reactor.

Plumbing will arrive tomorrow UPS some time from savko... Then Im ready to work..

I cant wait to get water in this !!! ...

Still need to order the Profilux II computer.. and still planning lights.. I would love to go SolarTubes but I'm scared to cut holes in my brand new house.. and I need HOA approval :) maybe..

Quick update ...

Ok geezz.. So savko gets my order wrong 3 bulkheads s/t not t/t .. So I'm waiting for those for the return from the sump ..

My Omni nozzles 2 are correct 2 are not so I will plumb under the tank for what I have but I am going to fill it and test for leaks and pump pressures before I get the new ones..

Don't know what kind of time frame but uhhh.. I'd not be human if I had great patients :) Just excited to get this cycling soon I hope..

Sump with Closed Loop & OM nozzels

Working on the plumbing of the closed loop .. What a Chore! I keep thinking and rethinking what I'm doing and its causing me to get no where!! frustrating

Here is a recent pic The dart is raised to the top of the sump to take away most of the head pressure... Unsure how its going to be mounted yet..

Looks good. I have some comments and suggestions about your chiller. What pump are you feeding it with? And also, I would advise you to relocate it to somewhere where it will be cooler and not suck in its own hot exhaust unless you have something else planned out. I have that same chiller and the room can get hot (it has its own room).
