Beaver's Crazy Reef

Very nice progress and interesting read!

I have one concern/question though. Have you put wooden material in contact with the bottom of the tank?

Thank you very much and welcome to the thread! You tank has been an inspiration so very happy to have you here!

The tank has two bottom panels one glass one wood! Then there is another wood panel that sits on top of the stand and finally a 1cm styrofoam that sits between them

Well......? I want to see the photos!

Ask and u shall receive my friend

Nothing much but is another job ticked off from the to do list and a step closer to finally filing the tank!

If I finish work early tonight i am going to silicone the baffle in place which is going to divide the sump in two sections (acclimatisation - frag tank chamber and pump chamber)

Finally the external sump baffle is in place

No idea yet Owen! Most probably leds

Sump is coming along great. Last night I siliconed the baffle and I also siliconed the overflow teeth and external baffle teeth.

I also picked up some nice pieces of LR from a tank breakdown and its now in my curing vat!I have around 60 kg now and I ma planning to get 15-20 more. Should be enough!

I am waiting delivery of my light brackets from day to day so I can hang the hyperion .

Hopefully next week we are getting salty:thumbsup:

Hello everyone

How about an update...

I have good news and bad news!

The good news is that the system was filled with 1200 L of NSW last Thursday(back still hearts as I live on the fifth floor) and I have started working on the scape

The bad news is that insulation in my wooden sump started to peal off around the baffle which is a real bummer!

I cant figure out what went wrong but I have glass on order to make a new all glass.

Anyways I am in Italy this whole week for work and scape progress shall continue this weekend. Most probably I shall have the glass by then!

Pictures to follow

Looks like a great system! It will be interesting to see your new skimmer in action. I am curious about the DC pumps. keep the updates coming. tagging along

When do you think she'll see Saltwater?

The main tank is running with NSW, rock and HOB skimmer for two weeks now!

I am waiting to finalize the scape and add the substrate before i revile it to the world.:fun2:

Whenever I get some free time in the next days I am going to collect some NSW and fill the sump as well. I think that by the end of the week you ll see pictures of it as I will have time to hang the lights as-well

This is how it looks atm!

More than 3 hours of washing 5 bags of ATI sand and still I have created milk out of SW!:lmao:

I ve also put around 20 kg from a tank breakdown to seed it!
