Becoming a club member again and curious about a DIY LED group buy.

That's what makes it exciting to me. I'll be giving the tank 2 to 3 weeks of the lighting before adding any fish/corals. This way I can get at least something right.

You think you'll have it right. Till your coral don't look exactly like you want them to, and you begin tweaking again. A vicious cycle..... :)

try out the optics. just use a tiny dab of hotglue to attach them. If you dont like them, you could just pop them off.

I agree, theres still alot of variables with LED and you do tend to want to play with them all the time. Ive been able to resist and sit on my hands and watch how things develop. as i said, so far so good. I also have t5's "in the bullpin" in case things go wonky.. :sad2:

This is my tank cycling. I have some big chunks of live rock (aquacultured), thanks to Memfish. The lights right now are the T5's from Kerry. Thanks again Kerry!

Very nice job! Hey I have a damsel you can have to help cycle if you want him. I never got you that count on the number of T5's bulbs I had. I presumed that since you are going with LED's that you didn't need them.

If you can come by this weekend let me know. I really want to clear the tank out. Otherwise, he may go to a LSF along with my remaining corals (I think Something Fishy is the only place that may take trade in's for credit?).

Yes I can come by this weekend. Just let me know around the time your ready.

Don't be a bully and torture a poor fish to 'cycle' a tank. That's stuff from a decade ago. No need for fish cycling anymore. :)

I've been using Seachem Stability for 4 days, live sand that came with the tank, and added almost a full bag of aragonite. At this point, the only thing missin' is the fish. 8.2 & 1.024
