Beeker's 200g DD PAR38 lit Reef

Looks very nice! I have decided to use some par38's for actinic. I am thinking 5 of just the royal blue spots with 60 degree optics. I love the way my zoa's and lps look under them.
I see you angled a couple of them, Have you tried to put more of them on an angle to get more coverage?

I angled the lights mainly because the bulbs are so big you can't have them all pointing straighT over top of the corals, so i had to put the mainly 12k and 20k bulbs right over the corals and i angled most of the all color bulbs to shadow over the 12k's and 20ks and to inhance color which has worked out nicely

i will eventually be rearranging things and the lighting will be spread out more evenly, i only have 4 strips of track to work with and will most likely add another 2 tracks so i can angle the bulbs better as well

i feed my fish everything, lol

Great looking tank and pics!
I read over on the PAR38 thread about what you thought the makeup of your ideal bulb would be.
Have you checked out the new Rapid LED PAR38 bulb that's coming out?
Do you think it will be similar to what you're thinking?
TIA,
Ben

Very nice! I'm looking forward to the 1 year from now picture, should be sweet! I need to see this in person sometime. BTW, I'm James from monfort! Are the vortechs on? I'm very interested in putting one on my new 90(whenever that gets started)!

I started reading this thread trying to figure out what DD tanks were. I ended up googling it to see that it meant deep dimension but you have a great looking tank.

Yes i currently have 2 Rapidled 7 led PAR38's over the tank and the color is great

here are some new pics, taken 3-10-11

This is after 2 weeks of daily Vodka dosing after those 2 weeks i have now gone to dosing Phols xtra at 1.5ml every other day as well as Vodka at 8 drops every other day (meaning the Vodka and Phols xtra aren't dosed on the same day) so far i have been doing the Vodka/Phols for a week now, my split in my photoperiod is all gone now and i am running 9 hours of lighting a day

Polyp extension has never been this good

It really looks good. Nice to see you working it out with all Par38s! It's an interesting experiment. I havn't seen too many reefers working with just these lights.

You just made anybody that ever told me anything negative about Par 38s eat their foot. You tank looks amazing and that is some killer PE. Cant wait to see more.
