Been out of the game for a while - New tank/system

Hi,

I've been out of the hobby for about 10 yrs and am thinking of getting a new swim tank system up and running.

I would like to setup a medium to large sized rimless low iron glass tank w/ sump and metal stand I can skin.

The area I want to fill is 65" wide to a window and open on the other wall in a corner of the room location.

Is it preferable to order a tank online from somewhere like reefsavvy/glasscages/somewhere else or pick one up locally in stock (where?) or have someone local give me a quote and build it (who)? Anyone have something used?

Whats the best strategy?

I'm looking for something like a 120g (48x24x24tall) or 150g (60x25x24tall).

Thanks!

Definitely get a used tank and save the money for corals and fish. Check the az Frag group page, there are a few tanks on there as well as equipment. T5 led hybrids are big right now for lighting if you have not bought a light yet.
If you go custom get better dimensions. Like 48x30x20 or something. A custom tank should have custom dimensions, but that's just my opinion.

Good luck with everything.

Thanks guys! I'm still trying to map everything out. Seems like rimless setups are tough to come by unless you get it made and there's no easy solution there. Wait times/shipping etc.. I'll keep looking around.

I appreciate the feedback!

Rimless are harder to find used and do tend to cost more. However, if that's what you really want I encourage you to save up and wait the time so that once you get it you have just what you want otherwise you will just buy it later and have to break down the one you started with. I think we've all done that. It ends up costing more in the long run.
