Begginer Keep Ignitus Anthias?

The tank will have matured for about 6 months before I put anthias in, so I will be able to get a fair amount of experience during that time. Are Ignitus Anthias generally hardy (for an anthias), as Dr. Foster & Smith Live said they were easy? I plan on feeding them 3x a day when 1st aquired with Rods Food, Cyclop-Eeze, New Life Spectrum Pellets, & any thing else you reccomend. After a month or so & when they look fat & happy, I thought I'd reduce feeding to 1-2x daily. Think that would be OK?
My tank specs are below.

PS: I plan on getting 6.

IMO they're not the hardest, but they're not the easiest either. Most anthias are relatively difficult. Barttlet's and dispar are pretty easy once dewormed and fed well. Ignitus is in the middle.

Chibils: Anthias have to be de-wormed? How would I go about doing this? What about Lyretails, I hear there very hardy for anthias? Could I keep a school in a 135?

mflamb: I read in last months RK Mag that once Lyretails have gained there weight back from shipping, they should only have to be fed 1-2x daily?

What foods would you reccomend? If I fed 3x daily, could 2 meals be pellet & 1 meal frozen? Vice versa?

Thank you very much for your help.

use prazipro. You need to get them eating. I've had good luck with finely minced mysis at first. eventually they get it and will eat larger pieces and more at feedings. Feed many frequent small feedings at first and get the food moving in the water column. good luck.

cl2ysta1: where can I buy prazipro? Is that something you would put in the water during the quarentine period? So far the planned diet was Rod's Complete Reef Food- I hear even mandarins can't resist it, so anthias should like it as well I hope. Plus Cyclop-Eeze, frozen mysis shrimp, & Spectrum pellets. To get it feeding in QT I could buy a bag of Dr. F & S's Live Adult Brine Shrimp, soaked in Selcon. What do you mean by getting the food moving in the water column?

Also, are Lyretails the hardiest of all anthias? Could I keep a school in my 135?

I had a couple then they just disappeared. They were doing fine in the beginning. Then one day, they appeared lathargic, and a few days later, they vanished. My tank was still young. I believe they can be kept by a beginner, but they will have a better chance of survival in an aquarium that has been established.

I've had very good luck with a trio of Barttlet Anthias going on 1 year now. They will eat anything I put in the tank. I will be adding 4 dispar anthias next:D
