Looking into getting some acans, any advice on what one to start with?

24 gallon aquapod
Ammonia: 0
Nitrate: 0
Nitrite: 0
pH: 8.0
Calcium: 400ppm
Filtration: media basket with purigen, chemi pure elite, and filter floss

acans are pretty easy to care for, be caustious with the lighting some acans dont like super light if ya get one keep it near the bottom on the sand bed so it will adjust to your lighting.

lord howeiss rainbows are nice! very nice colors on the ultra grade ones.

+1 to this.

some of my acans grow significantly faster than others, but as far as beginner ones, all the ones i've had have been very easy to care for.

one additional thing you will probably want to test for in addition to what you listed above is alkalinity.

other than that, i would say go for it.

all acans are pretty easy, the biggest thing with them, is do not start them up on the rocks, they are a low light coral, so just make sure to light acclimate them and you should be good to go.

I had a awsome gobstopper acan put most others to shame, I put it under to much light, went orange!

Def. start off with shade

I tested my alk and it looks like its at 214ppm.... It's on the high end of where it should be. I just love the colors acans have so much!! Thank you everyone for the advice! I'll be sure to keep them low and in the shade for a while, I know my light is pretty strong!

Thanks again everyone!

I'm reading the comments that they are easy to care for.... keep in mind they are also very sensitive. Some people have trouble keeping them. I'd say start off with some B grade ones before you go high end rainbow.

Yeah that was my plan. I wouldn't invest in any rainbows before I know I can take care of them! They're way too expensive :(
