Beginner coral?

good day everyone.. my tank is 2 month old now and I want to know what are some coral that are good for the beginner.. easy care... and easy for placement.. any suggestion.. please advise..

Good beginner corals would be GSP (star polyps), Xenia, Mushrooms.

All are hardy and thrive under even less then perfect conditions.

Could you give you lighting situation?

Assuming lighting is good, to all of the above and I'll add frogspawn if you want something a little bigger. Its more sensitive than the above (will not take over your tank either) but is one of the most forgiving LPS corals IMHO. Frags of it are usually cheap, too. It does require calcium maintenance and decent lighting of course.

thank you everyone... I was looking at a lps call fungia plate that lie on the sandbed.. are they easy to maintain? I love there color and look? I am using a Coralife 48" Aqualight Power Compact Strip Light- 2X65Watt. so I don't know if that is good or not....it was given to me by the uncle as a birthday gifts so I figure it should be good enough.. please advise..

plate corals are not extremely difficult, but I would stick to some soft corals first, cabbage, shrooms, fingers, toadstools. Lps wise find some corals that do not like alot of light, such as darker color brains, or bubbles.

130watts of light is low. I'm with bgiles11...Maybe not the plate... xenia or a leather. consider upgrading lighting for next large purchase, before adding any hard corals.

I agree you need a little more light, but most softys will do well under that lighting.

I only have 2 T-5 lights and 2 T-8 lights on my 75 and my Xenia, Kenya Tree Coral, Zoas, Mushrooms, and GSP seem to be doing awesome! My tank has been up for 6 months now, and the corals are multiplying all over! I hope that helps.
