I have an established 65 gal tank and am adding a micro frag tank to my system.it is a 20x20x12 rimless which I will plumb in.my DT is sps dominant so I would never consider putting an anenome in it.i am thinking of using the new tank for a anenome / clown pair and maybe a few chalices.what kind of anenome would do well in this situation.i will have a nice led above it( still deciding which)
Thanks in advance

The type of nem may depend on the kind of clowns you want to keep. Keep in mind some nems like to be in sandbed while others prefer higher up in a rock crevice. Decide what kind of clowns you want then research what nem these clowns prefer. If you are keeping corals that will be on bottom of tank then you will want something like a Bubble Tip Anemone cause the like it mid tank to up higher and will not harm the corals on the bottom.

Forgot to mention, BTA (bubble tip anemone) are the easier of the nem to keep especially for a beginner. There are a number of clowns that will go with them like the ocellaris. Also, tank needs to mature a few months before adding a nem.

A BTA can be a nice start. You can get others as your tank and skill mature.

There are some that will love to eat your clowns, so be careful and do not impulse buy.

I had a friend that got an atlantic and needless to say, he lost quite a few fish before it was realized.

as far as the maturity of the tank, what is the issue if im using my DT as the source of the water...the rock? what if i place rock from my Dt in the new setup..dont want to rush anything just wondering

My vote would be for a bubble tip anemone. Ritteri don't usually host clowns and are irritable. Carpets just sting the #$@& out of anything NON-clown that touches them. haha

My ritteri host my clowns with no problems. :)

That's awesome. Every time I've see one in friends tanks the clowns stay away from it. Haha. Love the individual personalities of saltwater inhabitants. :)

NOVA huh??

I go to annandale once a week for dinner. Honey Pig off little river turnpike.
