Beginner Question

Before I start searching though all the available information on this forum I have a question. I have an Olympus Stylus Tough 8010. If I dial the settings in correctly, will I be able to take decent macro shots, or is that not possible without an SLR camera?

I already spend too much time researching things on this site and am hoping someone with knowledge will say do this this this and this and you will be all set.

Heh, reading before asking is probably a better method.
I've seen tons of photos taken with P&S cams that can rival any newb with a DSLR and spiffy macro lens. The camera type isn't usually the deciding factor!
Read the camera manual, all of it, but look for the macro mode section in particular. That should help you get started. After you play around with the settings for a while and if you're still having trouble, post some pics up here and what settings you used for them and we can help you figure out what to do next.
