Beginner with Weird "thing" on snail's shell

Hi, I'm new here, just been looking around the forums, and I have a question I was hoping someone could answer. When I first bought this snail, (along with others) it had a strange little nub on its shell. This thing is pretty small, its white, semi-transparent, it has a hole in it, and none of the other snails have one. And just this evening, I noticed that it had doubled in size. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Its an astrea snail, with the cone shell..... whats the best way to get a picture up? I cant attach it with this post

I've done a bit of research and looked at some pics. The closest thing I can say it comes to is a tunicate. Can anyone recommend a site that I can put up a picture?

Hard to tell in your pic but I have a hermit crab that has a barnacle on its shell. It looks like a little mound with a slit at the top. sometimes I see its little feather duster mouth popping in and out.

Here's the shot of mine:

Edit: Crap, was looking at the wrong pic. I can't tell from the original poster's pic, way too blurry.

Just got 2 snails today that have barnacle butt LOL.
