Beginner's coral

I have my tank setup and stabilized. I have found that it doesn't take much evaporation to alter the specific gravity on a 28G tank, but I am now keeping it at 1.023 pretty easy. It altered a bit there in the beginning, but I'm learning. Now I just add a little RO water each day to a mark I have on the tank. The temp stays 78.0 to 78.9 and the pH is 8.2. I have no ammonia or nitrites now. I probably have a couple water changes to get nitrates below 5. I have some green button polyps that came on the live rock I bought and they are looking pretty good now. I also added a small cleanup crew that is feasting on the algae.

So now I am looking for possible beginner's coral in the near future. If you have some you would like to sell, then pm me what it is and how much you want for it.

Thanks,
Marcus

get some green star polyps.

then you can complain about them taking over your tank in a few months but they will grow like crazy and look cool for a while.

sory i'm a cynical reef guy.

Contact me and I will be glad to give you a good sized Kenya tree, It is really fast growing, and has a lot of movement in the tank and can stand some "marginal" perameters.

It will give you a good feeling of success early, but you do have to keep it in check as it will throw off branches that if you do not remove can tke over your tank.

Send me a PM and I will get you one of two, but I would not put a bunch of it in there.

Hey Marcus, Just don't put any xenia in there.lol.I just fragged a piece of pink cabbage last week.I can bring your zoas over when you are ready.

Only the best xenia to take over my tank. :) I wasn't sure how hardy zoas are. I thought maybe it was too early to add it since nitrates are around 18 right now. I have some water aging for a water change which should bring it down, but it will not be near 0.

Thanks guys. I'll see if I have a green thumb or ... umm ... whatever the coral equivalent is. PMs sent.

Sammy is wicked tuff. SPS and LPS are hobbyist terms and while many would lump it into the SPS group it's not your typical SPS. I'd consider it an OPS. It will encrust and can form branches. It can even be free living where it is not attached to anything. If you can't grow Sammy, there is a problem.

Do you have a picture of Sammy?
