I have a bellus angel in hypo at 1.009 for three weeks now. She has one tiny spot on her fin that is not coming off. I posted about this before and got some good advice from Lee and others.
My question is: She's staying inside pcp pipe a lot, not swimming out in the open, seems real shy. She does come out to eat though. There's two other fish in there that she's not afraid of and there's no bullying going on. Is it possible the hypo is bothering her? Since the spot is still there, although even smaller, is it possible it's not ich?
I was thinking about raising the salinity slowly to see if she does better. I would sure hate to lose this fish. They're so hard to get. The other two fish swim out in the open (blue tang and banner fish). I'm just worried about her staying hidden.
I check ph every day, no ammonia, no nitrate, nitrates I keep at 10-20. I change the water as soon as the nitrates go over 20, carefully matching ph and temp.
The other fish have been through hypo already for 8 weeks ( it's a long story). It's been three weeks on the bellus.
Anymore advice out there? Thanks.
