I posted this in the disease forum as well, hoping to get some help soon

i recieved 2 4" female Bellus Angels last wednesday, acclimated them for several hours and placed them in my QT. they hadnt eaten so i called the LFS that i ordered them from and found out what they were feeding them, still not eating...tried a variety of foods and nothing. This morning one of them had died The remaining one looks healthy, nothing i can see on its body, but the odd thing is besides not eating yet, hes acting kinda strange, swimming real fast back and forth, then darting into some live rock and staying there face down, then swimming and so on... the water seems to be very good, ammonia,nitrate,nitrite,- 0, temp 78.8, salinity 35 ppt, calc 410 and alk 9, im really stumped and dont want to loose this one... any thoughts would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

If she's swimming face down it could be a swim bladder problem. It usually looks like they are having trouble swimming and are fighting floating to the top. Which I believe is fatal. Hopefully, that's not the case.

that thought has been in the back of my mind as well, but she does swim normally, shes only face down while she hids in the rock. The amazing thing is, as i watch her now... shes out and about swimming, but not eating...yet.. i hope...it alsomst seems like she is not a morning person and is more active during the later part of the day.
Thanks for chiming in Falconut

Try live foods???

Anytime i have a fish not eating I will entice with something live. try some enriched live brine shrimp?

Reefbox, thanks...im going to get some tomorrow...tried to get some yesterday, both places close by were closed, keeping my fingers crossed

ive got some prazipro, just wasnt sure if the fish was strong enough for the treatment, didnt want to add any stress, ive read about the symptoms of flukes but havent seen any of them, im just hoping that it was stress related and some food and time does the trick.
Thanks for your reply

I got a new one about three weeks ago and she acted very similar to what you are describing for the first few days and then settled in. ON the third day she ate Spirulina brine and now eats everything. Good luck.
