Bengali won't school any more? HELP

lol u want them to school right? heres a tip.. if the tank is big enough add some sort of threatening fish (i don't mean something that will tear them apart or beat them up just something that cruises around a bit) like my cardinals would school only when my square back anthias was around. no they didn't really stress.. they ate fine and did normal things
but if your tank is big enough why not have a go.. after the anthias was sold off i added a painting beside the tank and the cardinals would still school lol

20g

even in a big tank they wont school lol. HAD 14 in our display at the store, 10 mths later and we are down to 1 pair and 1 odd man out. All others were killed off by the pair, 420g tank.

Bangaii's cardinals do not "school"! Even in nature... You will end up with a pair or a single if you don't remove one, there's really no other way about it.

sorry forgot to add that it is not the conventional "schooling" that you may observe with chromes viridis and the such it is more like a harem and they just stay together not ball up in a tight fast moving school.. mostly you have to be really lucky in the sexing since a male will induce pairing and annihilate everyone else"¦. for me i was pretty lucky as i got them to "school" besides having that scary fish trick being done i had a friend who was so into banggaiis and wanted a school so bad but his other sweet half would not allow a tank that would fit em"¦.. um u can see where the fish ended up... so he bought a whole tank of bangaiis at the lfs.. (by lfs i mean the owner is a pal).. he had the owner keep the fish for quite a while"¦u see the owner was also interested in seeing where this was going. the fish were fed and as they matured they began to show aggression(males in particular) the males were removed(to a certain extent since no one will ever convince me that this fish can be 100%sexed properly) the fish were fed plenty of food to reduce competition and bickering not fighting was common but not to be worried my friend.. all is well. now after that they were kept for a while more just to be sure and the fish were introduced to the tank. you may ask MAY I SEE A PIC?!!!! well me too"¦ but the fish were given away to my friend..well guess what his wife approved the build"¦ somehow they just didn't interest him anymore and he sold them off.. now he has a full blown 300 gal mixed reef with a mighty school of anthias"¦ damn that tank is B E A U tiful.. i guess he never fully got over the fact of schooling fish in his tank and wanted some who were active and more colorful.

cheers:beer:
