Berghia for trade

I have between 3-5 (depending upon how many I can catch safely), Berghia nudibranchs that will need a new home soon.

They eat Aiptasia (glass anemones) and and are supposedly completely reef safe other than eating the dreaded Aiptasia. They were culture raised and I can send info about the group I acquired them from.

I bought them to rid one of my amphipod culture tanks of an Aiptasia infestation that was threatening the culture. They have just about done their job and will need a new home in the next week or so.

I paid $15 each for them plus shipping. They are now about an inch long and regularly laying eggs. I don't necessarily want to recoup my costs, but am interested in some kind of trade... perhaps some really cool macroalgae, a healthy invert culture, or some coral frags.

I have mostly SPS and some Alien Eye and Tubs Blue Zoo's, let me know what you may be interested in. Click on my red house, I just posted pics of my pieces there. I live in Fairfield so maybe we can meet half way?

We have a 55 gallon bow front reef tank. Lighting is probably insufficient to support SPS.

Also have several culture tanks to keep the blenny, mandarin, two tangs and a coral beauty fed. The culture tanks are for breeding invertebrates and culturing macroalgae.

Unfortunately, our main tank is just recovering from an episode of wandering anemonies killing off a bunch of very nice LPS pieces. The anemonies are now hopefully under control by being lodged in a rock mound extirely separate from the rest of the live rock.

We are slowly reintroducing stuff. All of our soft corals and even a few of the hard corals survived and have prospered since the anemonies stopped their nighly meanders.

So, I am interested in your learned suggestions about what might be a good addition to the tank in exchange for the Berghia.

WATCH out for this.
If they get too angry they will release from the rocks and "hope" to float to to a better location.

In most tanks that means powerheads and overflows.
Do you have the right lighting fron Anens?
They are very high light creatures much like SPS.

Thanks cwitham! You weren't lying when you said these guys were hungry. They immediately sniffed the aptasias out and started eating when I decided to drop a piece of rock with some aptasias on it in a container while acclimating them. It makes it easier to put them in the tank along with rock. I just put the rock back in the tank with them on it. Thanks again! I hope you enjoy the frags!

Glad you are happy with these hungry little fellas. They did the job for me.

Just remember that when you are down to about 5-10 Aiptasias, you need to start finding a home for these puppies.

The frags are wonderful. I especially appreciate the added bonus pieces!!!
