I have the glass anenome battle happening right now. I have tried the CB and the peppermint shrimp, no help. So I have finally tracked down a source on ebay for these guys. I have a couple of questions on these guys:

If I get these guys would someone be interested in taking them once my tanks are clean. I am thinking that I need five or six and am told that they will have eggs so I could end up with quite a few.

I know that I need to get them out before they die or they will release some major toxins, anything else I should be worried about?

What about another source for them?

I think some guys over in ETRC raise them. Do they release toxins when they die? I have quite a few aptasia and can't try a CBB because my mean powder blue and it seems peperments just go missing in no time.

Thats odd peppermints didnt work my neighbor and I had tons of aptasia and they wiped both tanks clean in abouta week and a half

I have used them before and didn't experience any issue when they died off (on two separate occasions). I had them in a 40H, but only had two at a time... I'd be glad to take soem from you when they are done with your tank, but they are not the easiest things to find. When I got my first set (8 years ago...), they were so small that I didn;t even think they were in the little container. They typically come out at night and change colors to match the Aips (like nudis and zoas). Hope that is helpful... You won't see an immediate reduction in the anemones, but they will do the job as long as they don't get killed by something else.

Get some cancentrated lemon juice and a syringe. Inject the aiptasia's with lemon juice, and it will work. Shrimp and Nudi's only eat the smaller ones. Not the bigger ones.

To many in hard to reach areas for that in the 270. I need a natural preditor. And the lemon juice don't ever seem to work for me. I have joes juice but again can't get to them all easy.

If the aiptasia is bigger then like 1/4-1/2, natural predators don't touch them usually. They are not as potent when they are little.

Well the problem with that Pearl Scale is the last part of his name. I have had problems with them eating other things.

I had only heard about the die off deal. Gary if you have had them, I am going to trust you on that. I really thought that these guys would be like a snail kind of thing. I didn't know that they were that small.

I am with Angela on the injection thing. I have injected and so on with all kinds of stuff. Basically I kill everything that I can see and then two days later I get this outcrop of new ones. And I too have them in areas that I don't want to suffer. If I have to kill the larger ones with injections that will be fine as long as these guys can pick up the little ones that are left.

Angela, I am going to do a search thread over at ET unless you can think of the guy right off. Either way I want to go ahead and get this thing under way. Is anyone in a dire need for a couple? Group order or whatever? If not, once I rule out ET I will probably order.

Hmm, I will go ask someone. I am thinking it may have been fishboy42 wanting to get into raising them. Or Art. I will check. If they have some to sell I will be glad to buy them. I will let you know when I hear back from someone.

The etrc guy no longer raises them (at least since the last time i spoke with him). This was a couple months ago. I'm assuming the ebayer your talking about is saltyunderground apfish. that's the only seller i've seen on ebay for them. They have a website as well. I am completely in for splitting an order with you. Pm me and let me know when you wish to order. We need to do it fast, as the weather is getting to cold for something like berghia's, even with heat packs imo.

I'm seeing that the pearlscale will most likely eat stonies.

I have aips that would blow your mind. Almost 2" (without tentacles) across...no bs.

I had a ton of majano, tulip, and aiptasia anemone ALL over the rocks in my 90 bow front, I put in a couple of Peppermint shrimp, I can barely spot any anemone in there, I kinda like the tulip, but they're all gone. I didn't think they go for majano, but most have disappeared as well. I squirt with joe's juice on what I can reach, but once those peppermint were in there, they all disappeared....

After doing some research on the saltyunderground I have a couple of things to clear up. First, their opinion is that you would have to have a major die off all at once to have problems with toxicity. Second, I don't know that I am going to be able to pass these guys on Angela due to their small size, if I do I will let you know. They are saying to give it about 2 months to see good results. Next, I am going to wait until maybe monday to order. I agree about temperature with these little guys and with the size of the order where it is going we can get free overnight. FedEx is less than a mile form the house so I usually have them leave it at the terminal so that I can get it early that morning. That being the case I can either meet some of y'all in Nashville or whatever we work out. If a Friday delivery works out better let me know. They have a Sat. delivery but I would have to check with FedEx about all of this to see if we could get in there early.

So today is I Thurs. I want to go ahead and get the ball moving who is all in. I am going to order six maybe 12????????????? I haven't decided if I want to put these in the aggressive tank and see if they get eaten or just wait and let the ones I order produce and then dump some over.

I am guessing that we will be in the $15 - $14 range w/ free shipping. You can go to there website and do your own evaluations on need. Once we get a final count I will call and see if we can get the hook up.

Ouch! They are $15 each so I think I will just try some pepermints again from reeftopia if they are avaliable. They are just around $5 each and I only have about 20-25 I would say so the nudi site says that is not enouph aptasia to warrent nudies and they may starve before they find them all. Let us know how they turn out!
