Berghia Nudibranch

expensive shipping.. let me know if you decide to order. maybe we can split shipping

there's someone on SCR that sells, but currently out. I'm waiting on it too

thanks for sharing they actually have a sale, would anybody like to organize a group buy since they are cheaper if you buy more?

I was looking at reeftown too. I would probably need 4 medium ones. no need to buy that many because they will all die after.

how big is your tank? i have a few aiptasia here & there & another site recomended minimum of 6 for my 120 with "light" infestation.

150. website always over recommend. Reeftown recommended 15 for me. I was told a pair is fine if you know there's nothing that will eat it. But you don't want to risk 1 dying so you buy 3 or more. They will reproduce if you place them right. They need to reproduce to clean up

my 100gallon has tons of aptasia in the sump but nothing in the display. 2 peppermint shrimps took care of everything. However, they steal food from my chalice. that's why I'm not using them for my 150.

I'm also looking to get a few berghia (6 actually). I've been successful with finding someone on CL 2x before, but no go this time. Anyone else still thinking of ordering from reeftown?

i wouldnt mind if we split shipping, but I read that they need yo be acclimated a special way & supposedly they only ship one to acclimate, can some one enlighten me

They'll be delivered in the morning, but they would be fine in the bag floating until that evening. We just need to make sure they're delivered on a day that works for everyone to pick up same day.

I've always just dripped acclimated them in the past and that's worked out fine. Depending on much water they're shipped with, they may need to be drip acclimated in a bucket first so there's enough water to divide up and take them home in (and then re-acclimated once home).

Depending where they're ordered from, we could see if they'll do separate bags if there's only 2 -3 of us. That shouldn't affect box size or shipping rate.

from reeftown. it looks like we either pay for expensive sat shipping or we meet up Thur morning.

PLEASE NOTE: Livestock is typically only shipped Wednesday's for Next Day delivery. If Saturday delivery is needed, please contact us before placing your order. Saturday delivery is not normally available.

Due to the weather and time of the year, many clients prefer to have them shipped to a Fed Ex Pack and Ship store location or a Kinko’s store location where they can hold them for you to pick them up. That way they can usually be picked up by 9:00am and you don’t have to wait around the house for them to be delivered.

In the past I've just temp acclimated and dropped them in. I would think if the salinity is comparable you wouldn't need to drip acclimate them.

I can't do mornings - I work a normal 9 - 5. However, that's what I mean by if someone is able to be home to receive them on a Thursday and just float the bag in the sump to for temp, they should be fine until that evening (assuming they're packed well enough). I do that with corals all the time.

I can receive package Thur mornings. It's probably best if we ask reeftown to separate your bag if you cannot pick up till night. you can pick up at my place anytime.

Itsthenano, what is your schedule like?

I'm located in 91789.

How did you place the nudi onto the rocks? Most places recommend a pipette. I've used turkey basters to suck out unwanted zoa eating nudi before. They break apart pretty easily.

I've always used a turkey baster with lights out. Just keep count and do one at a time (they can get stuck to the sides of the baster and are kinda hard to see).

I'm in Pasadena, but am happy to drive out to Walnut for pickup.

Definitely would be great if they'd do separate bags.

A pipette with the end cut off a bit so its a little wider opening. A little more gentle then a turkey baster.

Acclimate at night, turn down the flow, and place them near but not on aiptasia. Put a couple here, a couple there... spread them out.

thanks!!

I gave itsthenano a PM to see if he's interested in joining. We can order for this Thur shipment.

for every aptasia I kill with aptasia-X, 10 more pops out...
