Berghia Nudibranchs

I put about 20 of these guys into my 50 gallon two years ago. They seemed to be doing okay at first but eventually disappeared, and it wasn't for lack of aiptasia because I had hundreds if not thousands.
I then bought 3 decent sized peppermint shrimp (the true ones not the camel shrimp)...those bad boys took care of business and my tank was clear in less than two months and stayed that way.
I really think peppermints are better because they are:
1) cheaper
2) hardier, they eat the same frozen stuff as the fish and don't just die when the aiptasia are gone like the berghia
3) they don't pick at any corals or other stuff that I ever saw, only the aiptasia, so in that respect same as the berghia
4) more interesting than the berghias
Just my two cents to keep people from spending a ton of money on these nudi's that are hard to work with IMO.

I have two pepermints in mine and they do crap LOL I did joes juice and the aiptasia grew like crazy in the same spot I just treated. Lime juice take a few treatment just to kill one! I don't want another fish so I'm running low on options. I read that quite a few people had a lot of success with these nudis so Im going to give it a try. R u sure u didn't get lettus nudie? 50 slugs running at $10-15 would run you quite abit of money.
You guys make sure you do some reading on these slugs before you plan on doing a joint order with me. I don't want anyone to be dissapointed with their purchase because it's going to be a first to me as well.

Are you referring to the Petco in Mentor. I am not sure if they have changed what they had in inventory but I am pretty sure they had camel shrimp as of a few days ago.

I have heard that pepermints might eat poplys also

The key I found was you need to get fairly large ones..they always want to give you little guys who just don't have the appetite to really make a dent.
As for the Berghia, yeah I am sure, I bought them specifically fomr a place that dealt in nothing but them, plus they are not hard to differentiate from a lettuce nudi...
And yeah I bought 20 of them which ran quite a few hundred dollars as I recall.

Not to mention if you have a lot of aiptasia, you need a decent number of Peppermints just to keep up with the reproduction of the aiptasia...
If you only have two they are probably eating the smallest ones first and you never see any progress because they can barely keep up with the new small ones, let alone get to eating the big guys.
