best 400 watt bulb ballast combo

I am setting up a 72x30x24 SPS reef tank. I am hoping to use just halides, no T5 or VHO. I have a pair of LumenMax 2s coming this week. I was wondering waht you folks would recomend bulb and ballast wise.

Radium on HQI ballast

If I was only going to run 2 bulbs, my choice would be 2 - 14K Aquaconnect running on HQI ballast.

I'd get one of each (above) and decide which one you like better. Keep the loser as an emergency bulb.

Word on the street is radium's on an hqi is where its at. Supposed to be crazy light in a lumenarc...
I guess the aquaconnects are a real pita to get your hands on though.

what about xm20k on a m59?

I have run both-xm20k on m59 & radium 20k on pfo hqi- radium on pfo hqi brings out more colors and has better growth- imo

My growth with Radiums + HQI ballast has been very good, very noticable. In fact it is better growth than I had with the ReefLux 10k bulbs and the color is VERY good.

Please excuse my ignorance...... but is a 400 watt HQI ballast = to a 430 HPS ballast
