I am debating on buying a surgeonfish for my 90g to help me control unwanted algae.

PLease help me decide which type of tang would be best for my 90g.

I have 140lbs of LR with variuos SPS & LPS with a 1" sand bed. I seem to be getting green and red hair algae (cyano) too often.

Thanks in advance.

Lawnmower Blenny to clean rocks and a Diamond goby to clean the sand. Other than that a foxface or a yellow/purple/tomini/kole tang will all do pretty good in that tank

If you have bubble algae in the tank, then a Foxface Rabbitfish will get rid of most of it keeping it under control. As mentioned above, any of those tangs will do a good job cleaning.

Fish won't help with cyano.

Most rabbits are better at eating hair algae than tangs are. They all get too big for a 90G tank, so they will be rent-a-fish.

Mexican turbo snails will eat hair algae after all of the "easy" algae is gone. You need a fair amount of them though.
