Best Anemone for Maroon Clown

Hi there.

The GBTA/RBTA is the natural host for the Maroon clownfish. (i.e. Green bubble-tip anemone/Rose bubble-tip anemone).

The species is Entacmaea quadricolour

Is this to go in the 75 fowlr? if so what is the lighting on that tank? Anemones require very good water conditions and strong lighting.
Also, clowns can be perfectly happy in home aquaria w/out an anemone. They like it but can live and thrive without them in our home tanks.
Also, not sure how old your tank is, but it is recommended that your tank be at least six months old and very stable before adding or attempting an anemone.

Tank is about 5 years old, Lighting:120watts total/ 1)40w Actinic 1)20K 1)10k. Will that do? Lights are on a timer 13 hours on the non-actinic & 15 hours on actinic.

What kind of lighting is it? just regular florescent's? Even so, if they were pc's or vho's that wouldnt be enough, i would suggest at least double that for a bta w/the above mentioned kind of lights, triple would be ideal.

i donno. i had mine under pc's (120 watts i think) and it was dieing a slow death, switched to 250 mh over a 45 gal. and its loving life

PC will work as well. The less light you have, the more supplemental feeding the invert requires. I had a RBTA for a year under 110watt PC until I gave it to a friend. IF your lighting is low, start feeing it about every 10days or so and see how it reacts. Then slowly increase to see the cahnges. There is a thread somewhere aornd here about that.
