best ato

I am looking to buy a new ato as my JBJ continues to fail me, I thought mabe the one was just faulty so I got a new one and that also failed me. Either did no pump or would overflow and pump way too much.

I am down with JBJ. I am looking into buying either the AutoAqua Smart ATO or the Innovative Marine HydorFill Ti ATO Controller, does anyone have anything bad to say about these?

Do I need to buy a specific pump for the Marine HydorFill Ti ATO Controller?

Thanks!

this will be used on a 40 gallon sump for a 180 gallon tank, granted that it will not be filling up a huge section the return section is very small like 8 inches wide, would the nano be fine?

I have the nano and the not nano versions, i put the expensive ones on my nano reefs and the nano on my big tank (140 cube). Im a rebel apparently. In either case i have never had them fail.Btw i cant imagine a reef without one. Good luck get a tunze

well looks like I will be going with the tunze osmolator haha.

I think I will go with the nano version as it is a very small return chamber it has to fill so I think the nano will have no problem keeping up. Any opinions on that?

Also do I need a pump or does it come with one?

I thought my JBJ failed after 3 years but the mode switch on the side just got moved to the wrong setting.

My IM Hydorfill failed and overfilled the tank. Apparently algae in the overflow confused the sensors. I no longer trust it.

My Tunze Osmolator works perfectly.

They both come with the same pump. Both units have an internal switch for slower or faster fill . I use the nano on the big tank and switched it to faster fill , the two expensive ones are on a 21 gal nano and a 47 gal nano and they are switched to slow

Take the lesson jmm learned hes tried the rest and paid the price, at minimum 4 or 5 times the price of an osomolater in flooring repairs and animal loss , not to mention the cost of the 2 failed units, both tunzes come with everything you need. good luck. zsuman
