best bulb for sps

I am looking to replace my 10000k 250 DE bulb on my mh fixture with a 14000k bulb. What is the best DE mh bulb out there for this. I have read through the forums and there is a lot of speculation. I figured I would ask fellow sps keepers for best results.

Ushio 14k on an IceCap ballast. This combo is not overly blue like the phoenix

There are many 14k bulbs to choose from. I was happy with the Phoenix DE's when I ran DE. If you have allot of supplemental light, you may not like 14k. Keep in mind that your ballast may affect the way the bulb looks. Most e-ballasts don't push bulbs as hard as a magnetic ballast.

Just got 14k pheonix bulbs and love them. I think the colors have already improved in my tank.

14K Phoenix here corals grow and look great.... u get used to the bluer look really quick its not that blue IMO

i run them on PFO HQI ballast

p14ks or ush14ks.... ush if you want a little whiter than phoenix

ushio 20k de look really nice, make corals grow and colors pop, at last thats what works for a good mix of white and blue

i love my ushio 20ks im picking up two slightly used pheonix to see if i get better growth or color, if i do, ill use them, if not ill go back to ushio 20k.

I run reeflux 12000k on my Outer Orbit Pro. Very nice bright white light with a small blue in it. Just perfect with the t5 supplement in the fixture. I prefer it over my Sunpod 140000k(a bit of pink in it).

How many started with 10ks and switched to higher K bulbs? Did did you notice your color improve?

How about growth?

noticed greens seem to start coming out more... esp in zoanthids and previously brown sps. other than that about the same except reds and oranges pop more without actinics. no fluorescent radioactive look like with true actinics but i like the look of unsupplemented 14k (i use phoenix but the others seem to be pretty nice too)
