best camera for you buck

i want to buy a nice camera to take pix of my tank and different hitchhikers. whats the best bang for you buck

I think you would be happy with a Canon Power Shot G9 or similar coolpix/cyber shot. I'm no fan of Kodak's Easy Share line though.

The panasonic FZ8 and FZ18 both have a ton of features including RAW. The FZ18 has a 1cm macro setting too. I have the FZ8 and love it.

Both take great, high quality images in high light, low ISO settings. I have to tell you though that they perform only average in low-light situtations. check out dcresource.com and dpreview.com and read through the reviews.
