Best cheaper camera for pics

What is the best camera for around 5 to 600 dollars. I am thinking of getting a camera to take pics of my tank and corals but I'll also use it for whatever else.

The Nikon P7000 is getting really good reviews for a non DSLR camera. You might look into that one.

I got a Nikon D60 with the 18-55mm lens at 450 dlls, then went on ebay and bought a 55mm f/3.5 Micro lense for the macro pics at 60 dlls.

There are tons of bargains on great cameras for a budget like yours . You might also check out the sometimes overlooked Pentax Kx. The model is only a year old with some of the best low light performance of ASP-C cameras for a price anywhere from about 400 used-500 new. Its currently $489 on amazon brand new. You can find a ton of cheap MF macro glass, tokina, pentax, sigma, tamron glass to put on there too.
