what do you suggest for your basic detritus/green algae. Im worried about crabs and shrimp as I have been hearing about them eating some peopled LPS and so on.

Trochus are great for any size tank. They can flip themselves and readily breed in the aquarium. Cerith snails as well to get in all the nooks an cranny's.

How large of a tank? How much rock /sand? House old is the tank?

its a 20 gal nano. probably 15lbs live rock and a live sand bed that's about an inch deep. I do weekly water changes of about 5 gal and its been up for about a month. It has gone through the diatom bloom but im starting to notice some green algae form. just think its a good time for a crew.

Go to reef cleaners.org and select custom clean up crew. They will tell you what you should get based on your tank.

I love trochus snails. They are by far my favorite snails. Just make sure you don't have hermit carbs also, because they will murder your trochus snails. A handful of nice sized trochus will be very helpful in a 20g. And get a few nessarius snails to help clean/aerate your sandbed.

Reefcleaners are great guys and they give you a ton of value for your money. But they only have ceriths and nerites, and I am not a big fan of either. Ceriths don't seem that effective to me and the nerites seem like they are out of the water as much as they are in it..

kinda making it harder then it has to be get.... start small 3 hermits, 1 turbo, 2 nass if you think you need more in a week get more. Also why not just head into your local LFS. IMO they can help you out with getting cuc rather than ordering one and having doa's or sickly guy's from traveling

Crabs. The ONLY crab of any kind that I will ever have in my DT is scarlet legged hermits. They do a wonderful job of cleaning and will not kill anything or eat your corals. This is the only crab that I can 100% trust.

All other crabs belong in the sump!

Love scarlet's but porcelain crabs are ok as well. They don't do much cleaning though.
