Best Controller

What is the best controller out there?

So far, I have been looking at the Reefkeeper Lite, Reefkeeper elite, and Apex.

is there any other controllers?

Need one that would control about everything.

I don't think there is a best controller, just different options with different advantages and disadvantages, i like reef angel, but apex seen to be what most have.

Apex seems to be preferred over RK. I know of many ppl who swear by Reef Angel though, never used one myself.

Another option is the GHL ProfiLux. Nothing it can't do and when you compare apples to apples there's not a lot of difference in price.

I will be the first to admit that there is no single controller that is Great/Perfect for everyone. Also understand that most people think/feel that the controller they have is THE BEST and will defend that point regardless of if they have owned any other controller or not. I've owned Neptune, RK, Lighthouse and GHL ProfiLux. I've also owned a truck load of "appliance timers" over the years for my tanks. I can say hands down that the ProfiLux is the right controller for me and how I want to have ultimate control over my systems.

Really the "Best Controller" is a very subjective term and one that really can't be defined by most.

I have heard bad things about RKs customer support. Just do a google search on RK customer support. I could be wrong but I think the reef anglel has a higher learning curve to use and program than the apex.

+1 for Reef Angel. The support is top notch. Helps to know a little about programming but Roberto and many RA owners will help if you do not.

Profilux. It's a definite step above the more popular options.

Just looked up the ReefAngel Controller and wow, the price is not bad at all compared to the other ones. Package includes 8 plug outlet, ph probe, temp probe, and float valves for less than $300. Might pull the trigger on this one.

To all that have the reefangel, is it hard to setup? Ever ran into any problems with it?
